We will guide you from the strategy concept and design through the implementation, monitoring and evaluation
The construction and operation of buildings contribute to around 40% of worldwide greenhouse gas emissions. In order to deliver a holistic overview of a portfolio or an asset sustainability performance, our services build on the Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) principles. Driven by a combination of regulatory and social pressures, we believe that a well-built ESG strategy can help stakeholders to understand and mitigate risks and achieve specific sustainability and well-being goals. Meeting the selected targets not only helps the environment and the community, but it also opens doors to new business opportunities. Investors, developers, occupiers, and advisors, as well as asset, property, and facility managers, all have a role to play in the process.

Wellness
Why wellness?
Our built environment has a profound impact on our health, wellbeing, happiness and productivity. It can shape our habits and choices, regulate our sleep-wake cycle, drive us toward healthy and unhealthy choices, and passively influence our health through the quality of our surroundings.
Human beings spend on average 90% of their time inside buildings, so the impacts of the spaces we create are significant. Recent studies have shown enhanced problem solving, better learning outcomes, faster healing times and improved stress levels from various wellness initiatives.
In addition to softer benefits, enhancing wellness can have measurable financial benefits. 90% of business operating costs can be attributed to employees, so incremental improvements can have a big impact.
Our approach
Working in collaboration, CBRE Sustainability and Workplace teams design wellness strategies that cover the full real estate life cycle, from workplace strategy and building design to ongoing facilities management and monitoring to measure programme impacts.
The WELL Building Standard®
Pioneered by Delos, the WELL Building Standard® is the world’s first building standard focused exclusively on human health and wellness. CBRE have a number of WELL® Accredited Professionals who can provide advice and WELL® certification services. Full WELL Building Standard® certification involves the implementation of WELL® features, a compilation of documentary evidence and preparation for onsite audit. As part of this process we work to:
- Identify gaps in wellness infrastructure and performance
- Identify opportunities for improvement
- Collaborate with the workplace, building and facilities management teams
- Create policies and documentation to support ongoing management
- Communicate with a wide range of relevant stakeholders
- Conduct occupancy surveys to seek feedback and improvement opportunities

Energy
The impact of building industry is huge on greenhouse gas emissions. The construction and operation of buildings contribute around 40% of worldwide GHG emissions.
Given the significance of companies' ESG policies (Environmental Social Governance) and the pressure of increasingly demanding regulatory requirements (carbon footprint, business energy audits, etc.), real estate is a major aspect of any company's energy strategy.
In order to help clients respond to these challenges, CBRE provides a range of energy efficiency optimization services.
Given the increasing complexity of technical installations, rising energy costs and growing workplace quality expectations, responsible real estate management is a core concern and major source of differentiation for companies. CBRE relies on its reports and network to provide pragmatic responses to each of these issues, while simultaneously creating value.
